The turnout for photo contest part 1 was great. All of the photos were really awesome.
Because the weather is finally getting warmer in the North, there's no better time than now to make this photo challenge's focus:
No more damn snow shoveling. Life is becoming more active in the great outdoors in full force. I know the seasonal change is more drastic in the Northern US and Canada so to be fair here are this week's guidelines:
- Try to capture the emergence of life or the characteristics of seasonal changing of life in the great outdoors.
- This can be landscape, close-up or anywhere in between.
- You can include plant/s, animal/s or both.
- The subject or content of your entry must be outdoors.
- Last week was the only contest where your entry could be an old photograph. This weeks entry cannot be taken prior to today, April 15th.
You may only enter one photo however feel free to post other cool shots under a new topic.
This is the first "new photo" contest so you'll have until Saturday, April 30th to enter your photo.
edit: Heres my picture It has been showering and it stopped for a bit so I went out and took some pictures.

Yes. Only your first photo submission will be counted. To avoid confusion please post only one in this thread. Posts with duplicate photos will be deleted.
I`m going to pwn the shite out of this one, going up canoeing above the Magnetawan this upcoming weekend and bringing along my Minolta X-7A. I`ll see what I can get XD
Alright so I didn't get the picture I wanted on this camping/drinking trip due to the fact I was hammered 95% of the time, and I didn't get to use my Minolta as I blew all the money I could blow on a 24 of lowenbrau tallboys and couldn't afford any film. So I substituded it with my small digital and I'm rather satisfied.
(Tooken on the south magnetawan river about 100 yards down from the "thirty dollar rapids", cool little stream that turned into a large water drainage from all the ice melting. I call this piece "Heavy flow"... )

Span... in order to hone our skills of amateur photography can we append another rule to this contest?
No post-processing of shots?
That is... try to take the best shot and submit... don't touch it up.
I am using my trust iPhone 4 to snap my shots because I like to challenge myself
Post processing is allowed for this round of the contest but note that it is a double edged sword. I guarantee you that if two submissions are equally great, the one that has a more "natural" feel will win.
If you win this round you can make the next round's rules.
